MM Links Solutions October 2008 [Week 1]

This first week in the reign of King Ulysses the Valiant was hardly a movable feast (in terms of points scored). More a famine than a feast and you will see why as I reveal the chosen links based on the theme of Moving House. They were:

PERSIAN Carpet
MUSH Room (Aargh!)
PERIODIC Table
ELECTRIC Chair

All Links were found (eventually), but points were thin on the ground!

Once again, it was early bird Dinkypuzzled who was all wired up and switched on to score with ELECTRIC CHAIR. This was following within the required two minutes by live-wires paulineward & beejay1124 with the very same link. Each scores TWO POINTS.

Around the same time, lysander, crying �Elementary my dear Watson� and scored with her PERIODIC TABLE for another TWO POINTS. Before 09.15 we had had 20 entries and the game had slowed down to �near mssies� until kettledrum flew in on her PERSIAN CARPET to claim the third Link Word and TWO POINTS.

The devious MUSH ROOM lasted until 13.35 when newcomer fred1941 entered as Entrant #37 and snapped it up for TWO more POINTS. By all accounts fred is a FUN GUY (Joke ~ only just!). Since this was the last link (and was devious), I nominate fred1941 as HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK (at his first attempt).

Since only 6 entrants scored Two Points and another 2 entrants scored just One Point, the League Table virtually writes itself.

The League Table after this first week is:

ONE POINT: Magyar & patchett

It is fairly common for the first week to be lean on points. On the plus side, next week, there will still be everything to play for ~ when King Ulysses may well have settled in and things might progress along natural lines. Whatever happens, you know that the �Show will go on!� Until then, this is crofter signing off for another week.

As though life was not hard enough, with global warming, the credit crunch and our police force in disarray!

Well there wasn't mushroom for me on your Persian carpet Ulysses, and I don't really fancy the Electric chair for comfort, so perhaps will have to make use of the Periodic table.
