It can be because of the wrong category, but my Banned Q's have been 1) Giving a ginger plant recipe 2) Asking the name of the music from a Bounty advert and my worst offence - wishing everyone Happy Christmas. This last crime resulted in a banning twice!
We are real renegades on this site :-)
do you guys get emails to tell you that your Qs or As have been banned?
i recently discovered that i've had 1 question and 5 answers banned, but at the time i never received any notification that they'd been 'banned'.
and i find it a bit strange that the question they banned was about the background music in a sainsbury's advert! i didn't realise sainsbury's was such a scandalous subject!
i actually emailed the ABed to find out what was wrong with it, but the reply said they didn't have time to respond to individual cases (funny how they still had time to send me that email though!)
how about a category system? eg. "your post was banned on the grounds of racism/sexism/irrelevance/etc"
No secretquiz, I don't know about anyone else but I've never received any email or explanation about my totally innocent Q and A's.
As bernardo says facetious, rude, etc remarks are likely candidates for deletion, but if yours don't fall into any of these categories then it is bewildering to say the least.
There were no problems with the original Editor as he kept in touch personally....so lets hope our new one will treat us just as well.
Thanks everyone so far.I've just had a good look through my profile. I have had 3 banned questions & 2 banned answers but I can only see 1 question marked banned in my profile. Basically, I asked it a number of months ago about an England football team made up of only black players in every position. I guess that might be seen as controversial in a very PC society. Could a question or answer be banned even if I implied a swear word without writing it or actually swearing with it?
