Sleep Talking

As i was awoken by my boyfriend again last night sleep talking i was wondering what makes people do it?

Are  you in a deep or light sleep?

Sometimes he just mumbles but last night he was coming out with whole sentences! He also grinds his teeth!

My boyfriend is just the same! Grinds his teeth, snores and often chats rubbish! The other night in bed he woke me up and asked me if I would pass him the shovel!??? It's so funny to play along and have a conversation, you can get them to say all sorts!

i thought i was the only one that played along!

yeah i can get a whole conversation out of him some nights! Some times its even better than when hes awake! he he! at least im not the only one not getting a good sleep!

I play along too, he told me last week "I'll do it in a minute, I'm just thinking about chargrilled chicken".  Sometimes though I go along for so long that he realises and wakes up in a strop because I'm wetting myself laughing at him!

I wish mine would wake up then I can tell him to shut it! He is so bad at not waking up that we were in a hotel in London, and the fire drill went off in the middle of the night that was so loud everyone in the hotel went to reception to see what was going on. But nope, not my man, he snored alllll the way through it! Honestly, the noise the alarm made was worse than a hundred fire engines with sirens blarting. Absolutely unbearable!

My wife's classic was "Move along -there's plenty of room on top" ! I don't what she was on about!

Anyway- has anybody got an answer as to why people do this?

I talk in my sleep too.  I sometimes know I'm talking nonsense, but I can't wake myself enough to stop.  So i think I'm in a fairly light sleep.
