creams containing a lot of vitamin e are supposed to be really good tho, can be expensive.

Hi Beverleymot
I'm 37 weeks with my first and am covered in stretch marks. I have moaned about them on previous posts. They are all over my belly now and each one is huge. They are on my hips, the top of my thighs, the back of my thighs and just above my knees. I was really bothered at first but after lots of reassurance on here I realise that they will fade eventually.

I am 36weeks and have them on my belly (either side of my belly button, or what used to be my belly button anyway!).
I have been using Boots own mosituriring body lotion (in a blucey green bottle) and although the marks are reddish when they come up, within 24hours they have faded o skin colour and can barely be seen. Unfortunately, the rate I am growing now means that as soon as one set have turned skin colour, another set have appeared!

I think stretchmarks can be caused by a zinc deficiency, though not sure if this applies to stretchmarks caused by pregnancy.
There must be a reason why some people get them and some dont. I am small and have two kids, my tummy was like a barrage balloon when I was pregnant with my son and I dont have any stretchmarks at all.

Hate you pixi! LOL
I think it is down to genetics - my mum and her sisters not only have stretch marks, but also have "the apron" too. So I have that to look forward to. Wonderful.
My hubby has two cousins who are sisters; one has five children and is 38, the other has three children and is 34. Neither of them have a strecth mark between them, and i have seen the 34yr old in a bikini and she looks like a 18yr old. I didn't even have the body of a 18yr old when I was 18!

Hi ,
I have always had pretty bad stretch marks around my belly region ever since I gave birth to my three kids.I had tried Vitamin E oil and cocoa butter which a number of people had recommended but it didn't seem to work. My Doctor had even suggested a Tummy Tuck. I then recently read an article about a lady who supposedly got rid of her stretch marks using a particular cream. I tried it and it worked really well. My stretch marks disappeared in 3 weeks. You can read more about the lady's article at the link below.
