Doggy Diets!
1 Answers
Hey all,
I have decided that Cleo needs to go on a diet! She is only 10 months old at the mo, but seems to be a bit on the stocky side.
Is she old enough to go on to adult dog food yet? It says on the puppy food bags that it is upto 24 months, but when Ashke was a pup he wasnt on puppy food for that long!
At the minute she is fed Bakers, as we said that once she is on adult dog food, we will change both the dogs on to James Wellbeloved as we can be buying 1 big bag to feed them both.
I just think its best that we get her weight and eating under control now while she is still young, as it is going to be more difficult as she gets older.
So do I just cut down her meal sizes? Or change to a lighter food? I bought her some low fat treats today which she will be having instead of normal, but just wanting some advice on which is the best way to go about her losing a bit of weight!?
Many thanks

I put one of mine on a diet when she was around 14 months as she had put too much weight on, and I substituted some of her food with vegetables ie: cabbage, spinach, carrots and a handful of pasta. They now all eat vegetables daily, and not only does it maintain their weight, they love them.
