British Red Cross
I read in the paper this morning, that the 'over a hundred year old' British Red Cross emblem, is to be replaced with a Red Triangle.
The reason given, is so that it does not offend Muslims. What do you think of yet another politically correct move?

I totally agree and believe in a world where we are all understanding of each other, I just think everyone goes about it in the wrong way! I don't know whether this really is down to ignorance or a lack of communitcation.
But the way it is handled sometimes is like making a cake with sh*t in it and sprinkling sugar on top, thinking that makes it better!
And another thing!! (oh dear you've got me started now!)
By criminalising the english flag, by changing english and british customs and traditions (and no, I'm not talking about fox hunting) you create confusion and panic amongst a lot of people, who quite frankly feel as though they are having their identity ripped from them.
What do you think this actually does to promote race relations!?
I'm not in any way shape or form saying this is right, but it is again, a perfect example of 'the powers that be' getting it so so wrong. It shows a fundamental lack of understanding for human nature. We should be nuturing communication and concideration - not ramming it down peoples throats and legislating it
End rant**
Do hope I haven't 'offended' anyone :o)
I can relate to Englishbirds outburst of emotion because I myself felt it when I first read the story. Bringing up the crusades are we? What about the Muslim invasion of Spain and Portugal, and the Muslim Turkish invasion of Centaral Europe? Am I justified in demanding that all headscarves and cresents be immediately removed from public view?
We are never going to get along if we keep bringing up the past. Besides, if I went to a fundamentalist country and complained that the forced veil was offensive and against my personal convictions and human rights and freedom I would be laughed at and sent on a plane back where I came from...if I were lucky.
