Messy tube rumour?

Did horrible kids ever stop themselves whilst sliding down a swimming pool flume, stick a razor blade to the tube with chewing gum and then wait at the bottom for the next person to be sliced to bits or is this just a rumour?

I know that the Olympic size swimming pool in Edinburgh, youths used to put nails through the flume.  Ouch!  Wouldn't like to imagine what it did!

i can't see why a kid, however horrible, would think to find a razorblade & some chewing gum & take them to a swimming pool. surely it'd be much more fun to just steal other people's stuff/swimwear/towels?

I heard that rumour along time ago and it put me of water slides for years, I'm over it now though.
