Need advice on house renting.
5 Answers
We are a young couple looking to move in together into rented accomodation in the new year. This will be our first time researching our options and it will be in london. What is the best way of finding one bedroom flats or houses to view? We are planning to move in the 1st week of 2009 so is it too early to view properties?
We would appreciate any feedback, thanks!

Property sites and local rental Agents sites give you an idea of whats available and at what price, how near they are to public transport etc etc

There are loads of great online sites- try Gum tree
http://www.gumtree.com/london/2548_1.html
Also easyroommate.com, flatemateclick, roombuddies
I would also advertise in the paper in whatever Borough you would like to live, if there is one.
You can go through estate agents but be prepared for them to reference you to death, take 2 months rent in advance as well as a months deposit, and possibly a guarantor. They will also be more expensive as they take their 10% commission out of the rental price.
