Can anyone give me a homemade recipe for sausage casserole please? I like to make this, but am disappointed by the packet mixes as they taste so bland. Wolud like to make a homemade sauce if anyone has any suggestions? thanks
Just experiment with herbs, garlic, mustard and/or dried chilli flakes. Use fried chopped onions (fry the sausages at the same time) and a tin of tomatoes as the base.
An Italian favourite is to remove the sausage meat from their skins & make meatballs which will absorb the sauce flavour better. If wished, flavourings can be added to plain sausage meat. I`ve used sausage meatballs in Bolognese & chilli con carne when out of mince.
