Picallilli, love it. Especially on cheese. Or ham. Or on cheese & ham together. Yum.

Now it's obvious where the picca comes from, or even the piccal. But what about the lilli / illi?

I woke up in the night craving a cheese & piccalilli sarnie on white bread. I couldn't be bothered to get out of bed & one, & anyway it might have given me indigesteion, but I spent the next hour mulling on the origin of the word. There's no wonder I am tired in the morning.

I love piccalli.

Especially on crusty bread, ham and tomato. Delish!

I know now what to have for lunch today!!!! Lol.
It's strange but it is one of the foods that make my mouth start watering if someone so much as mentions the name.
I quite like the sweetened version that is available now.

oh yes.

But it is a dilemma whether to go for the big chunks or the sandwich variety. It depends on my mood, the thickness of the bread, the maturity of the cheddar.....
Is this a contender in the 'post of the week' salla?..or can it be classed as advertising?
