.. odd shapes & bent bananas are all very well & good. But deformities and extra growths than expected can put one off a tad. As can malodourous ones when they start to go off a bit & haven't been kept in the right conditions.

Well-smooth carrots and potatoes ARE much easier to peel...but other than that it seems nit-picky.

To be honest, in the past when I've had a mutant looking tomato, I've avoided it. You just imagine theres something wrong and poisonous about it.

My parents always grew their own tomatoes.....and they were the weirdest looking things. but,oh-they tasted wonderful!!......flavour and quality should always be more important.

i agree with pasta id only opt for the normal lookers because they were easier to peel
