Which laptop ?

Hello ! I want to buy a laptop, which I will be using for storing pictures, music, to watch dvd's and access the internet from time to time. I would also like a cd and dvd burner. I might also go back to studying next year, and will need it for general student use, like word processing. I want to spend around � 500/600 , so I know I can only expect to get a start of range one, but could anyone give me their opinions on those here ? I'm only looking for advice at this stage, as the large choice on the market is very confusing.Thanks !

this is not the type of Q. i could answer, but i do know that for some years an enterprising american chap has devoted his efforts to producing a lap top that has all the features you would require, runs fast, large h/drive etc. that from next year he will be selling for $100. as far as i know it is not a gimic, it will be a quality product, he will probably make a packet on them, because they are cheap, so he will sell rakes of them. when the time comes for them to go on the market we will probably all know about it, they will be about �100 in the UK. i am waiting for them before i buy a laptop. I know this isn't the answer you were after but i just thought i would let you know!

I would highly recommend anything by Dell. They're having huge reduction on laptops and they offer a great service.

I bought a laptop for just �412.

Check out their website as they sometimes give a �30 discount for getting a voucher number online

But remember that you will also have to pay more for software such as Microsoft Office.
