I'm trying to write a letter to a couple who lost their baby (miscarriage) earlier this week. Can any of you help with appropriate suggestions please?

i had a miscarrige a few years ago and i found a simple if there is anything you need dont hesitte to call me , you are in my thoughts at this time love......
if you are close too them let them know you are near for a shoulder to cry on.otherwise keep the message very simple.x
Don't be tempted to put something like " It wasn't meant to be" or "you will have other babies in the future". However well meaning, they are quite hurtful things to hear when you have just lost a baby. I would go with zzxxee's idea of just offering a shoulder to cry on.
i totally agree with after8 but i found flowers were to much when i lost my baby because they reminded me of funerals and you are mourning a loss of a baby you can never bury or have ever held its vey hard
I agree with zzxxee. when it happened to me I saw people getting out of cars with flowers and I found it horribly depressing, although I know it was good intentions.

just a "thinking of you at this sad time" would do it. don't do a great out-pouring of emotions.. keep it simple.
is any of this a help mrs o?

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.
I'll go with the majority and keep it short.

It's ironic that I need to ask for advice on this one as I've been in this situation myself.
i think every person is different mrs o and sometimes when you have an experience in common with the person your offering sympathy to makes it harder

Thanks again.
you are very welcome thanks for the stars and good luck with the card and my sympathies to your friends
