car won,t start

my daughters car will not start.the battery is ok but there seems to be no revs at all.any ideas please anyone?

Dont take offence jozzer, is there any petrol in the car? you know what these young ones are like.

Thanks,Docspock.It is FIAT BRAVO 1.8HLX.It just makes like a buzzing sound when you turn the key.Nothing else it is like as though it isn,t catching.

Do the lights on the dashboard go dim or out as you try to start it ?
if so it is still the battery as it doesnt have enough power to turn the engine

Have you tried jump starting it from another car battery,making sure the other car is running.could be your daughters battery is not being fully charged does she only do short runs? Why don,t you invest in a battery charger they are not that dear. Check that the battery leads are tight also check that the negative leads to the bodywork and especially the one too the starter motor body or engine block are sound.

maybe the starter motor?? or as some folk have said maybe theres a charging problem with the battery and it snot holding wnough charge to turn the engine over?
