i'm a spray tanner. what products did the salon use? was it an actual therapist doing the tan or a booth?
i've found from using booths a couple of times in the past that the first time i got a good tan then a few weeks later the prices were halved and i was sure the solution must have been watered down as it wasn't as good as when i paid full price
you might be better getting a darker solution next time. different products have different strengths or just pale, original or dark.
also, if you have products on e.g deoderant, body lotion etc this can affect the tan
spray tans tent to last for 3-5 days and a lotion tan will last longer
you can also buy products that can help maintain the tan.
how long did you have after the tan was applied did you wash?
i work with fake bake and i know that they don't do testing into products that fade the tan but they have had comments from people saying that Dove seems to strip the tan
it might just be that the products used on you are not for you. you should mayby see if the salon stocks 2 types of tans (some do) if not it would be worth trying out another salon rather than using sunbeds

i had fake bake light spray tan done, it was done by a therapist. i had it done at 6 in the evening and didnt wash it off until the following afternoon. i didnt have deodrant or any creams on my skin at the timeof tanning.
i was told that the tan would last at least a week even tho i shower everyday. i do use dove bar soap tho, do you think this could be why it faded so quiclky? i was really disappointed. getting it done again on tues, was thinking bout getting fake bake dark or they use couture also. what do you recommend? x

hi
dove could be the culprit. i've been meaning to use dove next time i have my tan on so i can see the effects but never got round to getting a bar.
i would probably go for original next time. i'm pretty pale too and I have always used the original lotion and at my training for the spray the lady said the darker would've been fine on me too. as i'm the sprayer i've not yet had the dark on me but it does look good on people i've seen with it on and are pale
did you tell the therapist what you thought of the results? even though its not good i'm sure she'd like to know
your salon might have some products to help maintain your tan. you can get a mini travel like set that includes moisture oil, tan and exfoliator - to use before your next tan. would maybe be worth getting this. not sure the prices in your salon but they'd be between 6-10
or you could try the lotion tan. it does take longer to apply but i've seen me still have white bits up to 10+ days after

i will stop using dove and see how i get on, the salon i go to does sell tan extender kit and was guna get 1 but then realised that it was 29.95! couldnt believe it, have you any suggestions on summit i could buy from boots or supermarket that would help to prolong the tan?
i think on tues im guna go for the dark fake bake and see how long that lasts as well as not using dove!
thanks for replying xx

totally agree with zxyvixy. i think the salon would rather you tell them about the problem than you going elsewhere.
rather than sound like your complaining i would maybe call them up tomorrow and explain that you've had the light tan and wasn't impressed with the result and that you've now booked in for a second tan and are unsure what to do as you don't want to spend money to not get a result your happy with and see what they say. if it was me i'd offer some sort of discount.
most beauty places are shut on a monday so you might get an answer machine which is easier to speak to !!!! lol. i hate doing that sort of thing
god, i wonder what they were trying to sell you. nothing like starting with the dearest thing going!!!!
if i had any of those kits i'd have sent you one but just been moving and had to gut the house in 8 days so tanning has been put on hold and needing to place a big order. you should ask about them. there a good wee thing for folk to buy or for salons to use as a promotion
