Well maybe if England is becoming in line with Europe where the legal age is 18yrs although 14yr old can drive a special 2seater car without a licence or test ( great huh).  You have copied with the written theory test so maybe.

Well not living over there I have to be careful when I say Great Britian as I'm not sure about N: Ireland so I played it safe - and yes it would be much safer for the 17yr olds to push their cars anyway lol

I think a restriction on engine size until they are 25 is a good idea.

No-one under the age of 25 would be allowed a car with an engine larger than 1 litre.

Okay we would get a pile of moded micras and corsa but I bet we would get a lot less young people dying.

I agree with Greenbhoy. I think to increase the driving age would prevent many teenagers from gaining employment.

I have to disagree with Greenhboy, I drive 11 miles to uni and back every day - it would cost me a fortune to do that in a 1 litre due to the fact that I'd have to rag it to reach 60 which my 1.4 does easily...

As for the original post, I've been hearing that as rumours since I was 16 (the last 3 years), but never heard it from any decent source...
