I have bamboo that I want to grow in a large garden pot. I do not know the species but it is probably the most common available and is very invasive. This means it is going to require regular feeding. I need to know what is the best type of feed and at what time intervals. Any help/advice appreciated.

I have a bamboo growing in a large pot, it's huge and I have never fed it! I just asked the person who gave me the tiny shoot that it once was and he has never fed his either.

Hi Horselady,

Many thanks for the reply.

I find it hard to believe a vigorous growing plant can exist without feeding. I guess your plant is young and the compost is holding nutrient. This will not last forever so keep an eye on it. Good luck.
