Cabo San Lucas in Mexico
Does anyone know of any tour operaters in the UK offerring holidays to Cabo in Mexico (on the Baja California peninsula) opposite side to chav central Cancun.
I know there is an airport there, but can't find any flights direct or indirect from the UK.
Hotels look easy enough as most can be booked on-line.
Any ideas would be great?

Someone like Jno or Buenchico may prove me wrong, but I don't believe their are charters from the UK into the west side of Mexico. Which invariably puts the cost up a bit of getting there.
There are plenty of relatively cheap flights out of the (SW) USA hubs to this area - so try LA or Phoenix or even Miami. Then you have to find a cheap way of getting to the US hub.
The other alternative is BA direct to Mexico City, then one of the internal carriers within Mexico itself.

Thanks jno - i had already tried Thomsons, hence resorting to here to get some more information. It was a new destination for them in 2008 and didn't get many takers so they aren't booking for 2009.
She suggested Cancun, but I politely told her it's minging and full of scrubbers.
I think buildersmate suggestion of flying to Mexico City is probably going to be the best, especially as I have BA airmiles so hopefully shouldn't work out too expensive.

OK, a couple of final suggestions.
Firstly there is more to the Yucatan peninsula than Cancun. If you go down the coast south about 20 miles or more it is a lot quieter. Cancun is generally full of raucous young Americans who go there to drink at age 18 when they can't until 21 in their own country - oh, plus the Brits.
Secondly it is worth spending a couple of days in Mexico City if you are going that route (which is what I did).
Thirdly AeroMexicana is a reasonable bet for the internal flights to the Pacific coast - and quite a lot of routes.
