how do you stop cats digging in the garden, they are not ours and we would appreciate any solutions to the problem as long as they wouldn't hurt the cats

plant citrus smelling plants - they don't like the smell.
place orange or lemon peel around the garden.
sprinkle chilli powder or pepper & it'll put them off.

Get a children's waterpistol, and if you can catch the cats in your garden, spray them with water, it won't hurt them, but it will see them off. If you do it often enough, they'll soon find somewhere else to visit.
My parents used to have this problem with the neighbourhood moggies....until i moved back in, complete with my cat. She`s very territorial about her garden so we`ve never seen a cat in there since! And as an added bonus she goes elsewhere to do her "business" too!
So my advice is....get a cat!
Hi jan.. You need catshoo [ Coleus Canina ] height and spread 60cm.It has grey/green foliage and blue flowers in summer. You plant it in containers and move it around the garden.Cats do not like it or the smell.I have three cats and it works for me in my garden. Most garden /c will sell it , get a couple to start with and see how it goes.g.
Get your own cat - it really does work! They don't dig on their own "plot" and keep others away.
Your joking MrsJ1 & migirl!!!!

Its OK for your cats to dig and crap in other peoples gardens but not your own?
If you live near a Zoo, get some lions , tigers,or any big cats poo and put it around the garden, and you won`t be bothered again, seriously, it works.

Thanks everyone for your help,I will try everything
individually to see which works best. Except perhaps get my own cat as I dont think my Jack Russel would be very happy about that.
THANKS AGAIN
