Chicken nugget horror!!!!
54 Answers
Well today I didn't feel like cooking dinner so I went to Sainsburys for a bite to eat with my 4 yr old. She wanted chicken nuggets so after waiting ages they finally arrived and luckily for her she decided instead of eating them whole, like she normally does, she wanted them cut into pieces. So I did and to my horror they were all completely raw in the middle except one! I immediately took them back and the staff member apologised and said they were probed at 89. Obviously just the cooked one was then! She asked if I wanted some more, needless to say I didn't and my daughter had some turkey slices instead. When someone else brought them out I asked for a refund and she said she would go and see. She stroppily came back to the table and said we will give you the money back this time but we don't normally do that! I looked at her incredibly and said are you having a laugh? If my daughter had have eaten those nuggets she could have been seriously ill or worse and you're quibbling over giving me my money back! Your lucky I don't report you! She walked away while I was still speaking and said if I had a problem then to speak to her manager because she didn't have to stand there and be shouted at! I didn't shout. The lady at the next table said the same had happened to her the previous week too!
I spoke to the store team leader on the way out and she was suitably shocked and gave me a 10 gift card. Wow!
Should I report them not bother, what do you think?

Yes I would definitely report them. Yesterday we were in sainsburys toilets and my 5 year old went to wash his hands. One of the store assistants was in there too, and she said 'don't let him wash his hands as the water is far too hot.' There is only one tap on each sink and it is not a mixer tap. Apparently they can't get the water to a happy medium so are leaving it too hot! There aren't even any 'warning hot water 'stickers up. It seems sainsburys are slacking in more than one area at the moment. And to think I stopped shopping at tesco due to their lack of customer service!
Yes it is disgraceful if they were genuinely undercooked (rather than just having cooled down) and they should be reported. And it's right you shouldn't be charged. But were you insisting that the replacement turkey slices should have been free of charge too? I don't see why there's any entitlement to expect the replacement meal to be free (although it would have been a good gesture from Sainsbury's). Or have I misunderstood?
I would write/ring the company and tell them your daughter is upset 'cause she can't have her fav ch-n. Warn them you will be in next week with your daughter confirm, date & time and you should get a free meal with 'royal' treatment.
If the food is undercooked again then report to authorities.....but give them a chance, as it could be neglectful staff.

Report them. Sainsbury's staff are poor at customer service. I once reported to the staff at the local store's petrol station that the diesel pump I had used was very very dirty. (The dirtiest I have ever used). The reply was "We clean the pumps every two hours and they were done an hour ago".
So what? That pump had obviously had diesel spilled on it by a customer but the staff were not interested. I did not report it but wish I had.
So yes - report it.

I reported them yesterday both to environmental health who are now investigating and to head office who are doing the same. We will see what happens!
Just want the stroppy waitress to be disciplined for her rudeness and obviously the staff to follow the stringent food safety rules they are supposed to before they make someone ill or worse.

Hi, I am surprised at Sainsbury's, they are usually very good. Whilst you had a gift voucher, I would seriously consider writing to Head Office a) to record the event and the seriousness of the situation - they may have to review their procedures, and b) you never know what they might come up with. After all, a 4 year old could have come off far worse than someone bigger and stronger. If you do not get a satisfactory respose from them I would then take it further.
Head office contacted me today and were obviously very apologetic. She said the store manager and the cafe manager would be personally phoning me to apologise further and they had found one of the cookers to be faulty! Not sure if I believe that! She did say that was no excuse for each of the nuggets to not have been probed though. She also said the 'stroppy girl' would be definitely dealt with so lets hope she gets severely told off. My hubby could do with her job!! He can't get one at all and there's people like that who have the cheek to speak to you like your sh*t. Environmental health are also investigating so it will be very interesting to hear from them too.
