Am I being irritated over nothing?
49 Answers
I've been seeing this guy for about 4.5 months now and he is beginning to irritate me. This may sound harsh but he tells me he loves/misses me about 50 times a day. Although I like being told I'm loved... this is too much. I'll leave his house and I receive a text 2 mins later saying he misses me. I get a text 7.45am each morning with the same sort of message "morning, love you, missed you" It's driving me nuts... but I feel if I'm out of order if I say its all too much. One day I received 15 texts all before 9am on the way to work - and some of the messages where like " just seen your mate walking her dog" AAUUURRRGGGHHHH... what do I say, what do I do? Constant texts/miss you/love you is driving me mad! I'm quite an independant person and like my own space and can't handle all this.

don't get me wromg, we really are very happy, but there's only so many timews i can say "i love you" & i don't like being made to feel bad for working hard, or seeing my family by getting messages saying she misses me! i haven't actually said anything yet as i don't know how to broach the subject. sometimes i have got cross & said "my work will take me twice as long if i'm on the phone to you" (or writing on answer bank come to that . . .) but it hasn't really got me anywhere.
i do need my space & i will even if i'm not working so hard. so what to do?!?!?!?!

be polite and explain its too over powering and your not used to that type of attention. Tell him your just having fun and don't want to get hitched.......tell him you want to meet a few guys who won't do this then maybe 10 years down the line you may be ready for a man like him. But not right now.
I am sure he will understand. I am sure its not fifty times even though it feels like that. Every morning he sends you a text, I have had this response believe me they do stop when they have to.

Well if you told him, he should know. Just don't reply back, so you obviously get frantic and have to respond back, what does that say. Do you think hes checking up to see you haven't spent the night with another. No I think hes just a lonely very lonely person who has finaly found someone. He's attactched to you. Someone people do attatch quite deeply. It never lasts!
Hey Harry, well I sat my boyfriend down on Tuesday and explained to him exactly how I felt. I told him that he needs to relax and calm down otherwise its pushing me away. I told him how I'm quite an independant person and don't want someone who clings to me. I was completely honest, I think you have to be. He did get upset but he understood. I explained that he doesn't have to say "i love you / i miss you" 100 times a day. Like someone very kindly said on my answers was that I love you sounds better when its said less and meant. I also told him that I didn't like the constant texts every morning. We are on a break for a bit, i told him i need my space. So i'm going to see how it goes. x
I agree with those who think that your partner is over the top - he sounds very insecure and clingy which is not a nice way to be. The number of texts are just too much.
But you know what? What you say about the sausage sandwich is quite normal, (though I don't do it) there are couples who do tell each other what they are eating/going to eat when they are apart!!!
