DVD Region One And Two

Could anyone tell me if its possible to play Region One DVD''s on a Region Two DVD Player as There's a DVD from the States that I want to buy but its Region One.  Cheers

Officially no but In all probability there is a region Hack available to make your machine multi region, see

The procedure to turn your dvd player from region 2 to multi region is available on the net. it is usually simple and easy to do. no cost either. just check the website  shown above

Region one can only be played in the states (thats without the hack) Here in the UK you can only use region 2 although I got a DVD from Australia which is region 0 and it still worked. Is it not at all possible to get the DVD here?

I read somewhere that if you have a multi-region player and play a region 1 DVD on it, the picture on a PAL ( UK standard ) TV  could be in Monochrome not Colour.

Sadly Panasonic and some others know that these get out and so make theirs so that you can't hack them with the supplied handset.

John's point is a good one if you are playing a region 1 disk you will need to ensure that your TV is capable of NTSC as well as PAL otherwise you'll most likely get a poor qualty black and white image

The DVD is called Three's Company and its only available on Region One as its from the States, its from the 80's and its an old american sitcom starring the late John Ritter and was based on our " man about the house " sitcom.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if all else fails (changing the region on your dvd), I think you could also copy the disc on a "back up" package such as DVD Shrink, and specify that you want the copy to be region free.  A last resort, I'm sure, because you won't actually be watching your bought one, but an option nonetheless?
