Motor-Cycle Licence
Can i drive a Smart Car on my full motor-cycle licence? The licence does entitle me to drive a tricycle, but of course they have three wheels. I have tried various sources of enquiry, without getting a definitive answer. Thanks to anyone who can help.

It used to be that, if the vehicle had a reverse gear it could not be driven on a motor cycle licence. In fact, when 3 wheel cars were first available ( Bond, Reliant and such), it was possible and acceptable to have reverse gear blocked so that it could be used on a bike licence.

A SMART Car is a car (the clue is in the name Car!), hence you need a car licence. Either a provisional and someone with a full licence in the car with you at all times, or a full car licence if you want to drive it unaccompanied
You are however entitled with your current licence, to drive a reliant robin or any other 3 wheeled car.
