Well I was driving this afternoon, in an unfamiliar area looking for somewhere we have to go next week. I was approaching what I thought was a tight corner and so I slowed down (thank God) when at the last second realised it was a junction. It had a turning off it which made the road look exactly like it was going round a corner (hard to explain) There was no give way sign and the lines on the road were so faint and it was muddy you could barely see them and because I was a little stressed trying to find a place I nearly drove straight in front of a car! I sh*t myself! I have never yet had an accident before (touch wood) and consider myself to be a careful driver and when we went back again, even on a 2nd look the road still looked like it could have been a corner and I think it should have been marked out a whole lot clearer. Have you ever had any near misses like this?
hi Tigwig.. sorry to hear of your heart-stopping moment!
you should report it to the Highways Dept at the Local Authority. they look at accident blackspots and should deal with it if enough complaints/comments/reports are made.
