I am suffering from horrendous night sweats and have done for the last two years. I do have Thyroid issues and depression but these are not one of the side effects. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing them? Thanks lots
If this has affected your life for two years have you been to the doctor. Your doctor will have a much better idea than us who dont know you as to what could be causing it, and hopefully prescribe something to help.
I am female and 34. i have been to the dr but they seem disinterested to be honest. Maybe a bit too young for the M, having said that haven't had children either so i don't know. It was really to find out if this is a popular issue with youngish women.
Ask your Dr to test for LSH , if you are peri-menopausal this hormone will be high and could explain night sweats. Your Dr should refer you for further tests anyway as two years is too long to put up with night sweats. ugh ugh I remember them well. Good luck.
My OH has under active thyroid ( it doesn't work at all) so it has been quite interesting to put it mildly with him piling on the duvets, as he is like a block of marble, and me having night sweats!!
Hi belliee, I am 36 and have had night sweats for ages, otherwise well fit and healthy and as i am a nurse wasn't worried too much. Mentioned it to G.P during routine visit and was advised it may be due to temperature of environment!! Not sure about that but I am well and no other symptoms. I think its related to the Menstrual cycle. It might be worth keeping a record of when they are worse and most frequent. Watch out for any other abnormal symptoms though.
I have arranged to have hormone tests so hopefully if it is hormone related then it should show up. It is hard to keep a record of my cycle as I have had the contreception implant fitted recently, therefore don't have a cycle. This can't be related as it has only been fitted for 3 months. I have had under active thyroid for 4 years, stable for just over 2 so not sure if this could be related. Dr has said she doesn't know why but I have asked for the hormone test so hopefully will get the answers i need. Thank you everyone!!!
