Bailiffs
2 Answers
Having just watched bailiffs on BBC1, I would be interested to know how much money one could expect to earn working as/with a bailiff, is it mostly commision bases earnings? Also, does one need any qualifications (legal or otherwise) to become a bailiff ?
Thanks in advance.

Those that work for the Court will only earn around 20k to 25k pa but will work a standard 35 hour week. Bailiffs working for private firms (which I expect are the subject of the BBC programme, as their work is generally more 'interesting') can earn much more (I've heard that 80k pa is not uncommon but that's working long hours) as they may also be paid by way of commission/fees on top of their basic salary. Either way, you need to pass exams to become a Certificated Bailiff but you can study 'on the job'.
