why is it they call ladies/women or girls who act actors when being interviewed, they are female so.....actresses men are actors, to prove this point the oscars...
best actress.

the baftas
best actress
best actor.


just curious as to why when being interviewed they are refered to as ACTORS.

Both terms are correct, they are actors because they act.

Animators are animators whether they are male or female, same goes for a lot of jobs.

I know you get a waiter and a waitress, but I don't see why a waitress can't be called a waiter as that is what they do.
Just to answer your other question, I guess it would get a bit confusing if both categories were Best Actor...
The categories could be changed to Best Female/Male actor. I dont see why there needs to be categories. They `re either a good actor or not regardless of their sex.

still confusing tho, the ess simply tells you what sex they are nothing to do with ability.
if you saw the name Charlie Jones( Made up). Charlie Jones (Actor), is this a man or a woman.

my thoughts exactly AOG, as i said it doesn�t detract from their acting abillity it tell you they are male or female.
