My favourite is 'From Hell' starring Johnny Depp.
My favourite is the Michael Caine adpatation for Thames Television.
Crocodile Dundee
Murder By Decree, shown recently on various channels. It was given the Sherlock Holmes treatment, played by Christopher Plummer and Watson by James Mason.
The storyline was that a royal nobody had secretly married a commoner living in Whitechapel and a child had been produced. Concern was expressed in the highest circles, including top politicians, that if a number of royals died the child might ascend to the throne. The Masonic Lodge, of which a number of senior royals and politicians were members, took the hint and went round Whitechapel murdering anyone resembling the mother of the child.
Lot of big names and some good performances.
Yes - i still love the Michael Caine one

feebee.Yes 'From Hell' was quite good, but a little on the quirky side at times.

BagPussAA, ronnie_07, Yes Michael Caine's 'Jack the Ripper' I did enjoy this, I remember at the time I recorded it onto VHS tape. This week I searched the tape out and transfered it to DVD.

on.knowledge, I don't like cake.

Parsfan, 'Murder by Degree' Now this one is new to me, but thanks to your excellent review, I will see if I can get it on DVD.

You're very welcome, but if you're looking for it remember it's Decree, not Degree. You might end up with something different.
