my son has not lived at my address for over 1 year but the bailiffs have written about unpaid fines . can they come to my home .he has never been on the electoral list at my address
thanks but he doesnt have a new address he stays with different friends I always pass on his mobile number.
surely he has no right to carry on giving my address
Yes they can call at your house, but they have right of entry http://www.insolvencyhelpline.co.uk/debt_basic s/bailiff-guide.php
Let them turn up, tell them the address of the friend he is staying with when they get there and hand them his mobile number
After that, I would send all mail back as Not Known for a time,
thanks. I know it sounds pathetic but he is my son and i dont want bailiffs turning up at his friends house and causing him more trouble, after all he would then be homeless again and more likely to come back !
LOL, I know what you mean Polly
It's about all you can do I'm afraid. Perhaps forcing him out of friends will force him to find a permanent address?
Would you refuse to have him back if he asked? Doe she still have a key?
It's very hard when it is our own child
Are these court fines? You won't be helping him by obstructing bailiffs if that is the case.
Court bailiffs do have a right to force entry, although they rarely do.
I kept getting post for someone who I have never heard of so I opened one. It was a letter from a company threatening that he owed them money. I sent it back and said this person does not live here. I would suggest you sent it back and say this person does not live here and has not lived here for over a year. I never got any more letters and hopefully never will.
