My car is parked on the drive and recently overnight a piece of chimney brick slide down the roof and landed on the roof of my car and scratch it deep enough for it to start rusting , under 3 year old car, or wiser to pay out of my own pocket? guess the whole roof would need to be re-sprayed.any answers thanks

Is it your chimney?
Question Author
yes my chimney and my car.
You did to get the chimney secured as soon as possible - that could have been the postman's head it fell on.

Whichever one you claim off will affect your premium for the next two or three years, so depending on how much it costs to put right, you may better paying out of your own pocket.

Get some quotes for the work, see how much your excess is on the car insurance and then decide.
In my experience, Home insureance tends to go up less than car insurance. So i'd try and claim off my household insurance..

That said, if you can afford to pay it yourself, do so.
If you do decide to claim please let us know which policy pays. I reckon it's a claim on your car insurance.
