indoor aerial

can anyone recommend a good one pls ? we have an audio described tv in the bedroom for my husband who is blind, the tv is on a wall mount fairly high up near the ceiling so there isnt much space to pull out an antenae to its full height.
Just bought yesterday a Nikkai Indoor DVB-T and HDTV ariel from Maplins @ 39 which is compact and doesnt take up much space --- but its worse than the one we already have so I will have to take it back today.
any suggestions, sorry I am not very techno minded and hubby fitted it himself.

You may need to get an aerial extension cable if the 'best place' happens to be on the other side of the room.
I made this mistake with a loft aerial I put up, not thinking that the aerial was in a crap place, in the end I put the tv in the loft and waved the aerial around all over the place to get the best reception before settling on a sweet spot.
