Social Services
A friend of my sisters has recently had her newborn daughter taken from her by social services. This was done at the hospital a few hours after the birth. I was wondering for what reasons do social services take this action.

social services advise of reasons for coming into care. There are only two ways a child enters care
1. Signed voluntary consent of parent
2 Cout order where court accepts view that parent may endanger child
as well as above reasons also
sexual abuse where by perpetrator living at hope
previous history of harming a child
concern parent may medicate a child
it is likely she will have known during her pregnancy this was a possibility as a number of case conferences would have been held advising her of the risks of her baby being taken into care. Also she would hasve been advised of steps she could take to prevent this
