spot cream
Are there any spot creams that really work? I always get the odd big spot around my chin and have tried loads of spot creams (these ones that reduce it in a couple of days) but they don't seem to work. When I have used facial washes for spots in the past I've always ended up with more (i just put this down to sensative skin). I cleanse, tone and moisturise every day. Anyone know anything that does actually work?

thanks for your answers guys!
Little Lady - you seem to know quite a bit about this. If I tell you my regime can you tell what (if anything) is wrong with it. I don't wear much makeup, only a bit of foundation really. Take my makeup off every night with unfragranced baby wipes (these are all i have found that don't seem to aggrivate the problem), tone with a L'oreal toner for dry skin and use E45 on the dry bits but not the rest. I use a L'oreal exfoliator but generally only every few days in the shower (i do shower more then every few days). Any suggestions.
Are the spots you are getting large or small?
Are they really painful?
What areas do you seem to get them most is it just your chin or forehead etc too?
By the sounds of things you probably have a bit of combination skin type with dehydrated skin condition and maybe a bit of sensitivity probably bought on by using the wrong products which is fairly normal for most peeps as they dont know what skin type they have usually. For instance alot of people assume they have dry skin as it feels tight but when in actual fact it is dehydrated, they go n buy a dry skin product so forth putting more oil on to the skin when they need more water and end up getting spots and dont understand why. Sound familiar? Stop using E45 cream it will be far to thick honestly it doesn't have too many fantastic ingredients in it either, i have no problem with people who get on with products fine as everyone is different and if your skin gives you no jip dont change anything.
Well certainly touching your face alot will promote bacteria to form spots but like i said before this can also link to your hormones as the chin relates to that part of the body, bit like reflexology but done with different parts of the face relating to different organs in the body. I would try and keep the area as clean as possible use a nice light fluid moisturiser on that area no thick cream this will only make the problem worse. Having a few odd sopts shows your skin is functioning properly so try to worry about them too much though i know when you have one you think everyone is staring and its three time sthe size it really is lol. Tea tree oil is also really good for spots as it is a natural anti bacterial and antiseptic, well worth investing in some as its also good for mixing with shampoos to give an extra cleanse (only a few drops though) to put on insect bites and put on spots too only a dab though, you could try mixing a drop in with your moisturiser this could also help the smell is not the best though it isn't the worst either. Its very hard to say without being able to properly look at your skin but itmay beowrth your while investing in some better products that are slighlty more naturally based but will be slightly more pennies, Clarins, Decleor, Dermalogica or the likes are a really good place to start, you dont have to go mad just try a moisturiser or something they tend to last longer than the cheaper ones to and wont sensitise your skin as much. Also if you have spots that are healing try lavender oil on those one of the best healing and soothing oils about again you can mix this with moisturiser or cleanser etc. If you decide to try tea tree or lavender the way you can tell if it is pure and not mixed with anything is if it has its latin name of the oil underneath the actual name for instance lavender is lavendula officinalis, can't quite remember what tea tree is off the top of my head but i hope this has helped....
Spots are usually a result of diet rather than your beauty regime. Try cutting down on dairy and red meat, eating more veg and fruit, and of course drink a lots of water. Other than that, tea tree oil dabbed on spots works wonders, as does pearl cream, which you can find in most good chinese supermarkets.
