Ive only recently got some goldfish, havent had any for many years. Im sure we only used to feed ours once a day and if we missed a day it would not matter, however on my tub of food it says feed 2-3 times a day - how often do you feed yours? Thanks for your help
Twice a day, morning and teatime. I sprinkle just enough so that they eat it all in 5 minutes, more than that is too much. My goldfish are fed with Aquarian flakes. I have 5 fish who live in a six-sided tank, which holds 7 gallons of water, they have an under-gravel filter with an outside the tank air pump. How many fish have you got.
only 3 at the moment but will be getting a few more, my local pet shop didnt have any choice so only got 3 til i go to a bigger shop. my tank holds 10 gallons of water, it has a filter and the air pump
It depends were you have the fish. If inside where it is warm, feeding them 2-3 times per day doesn't matter and they'll grow better but as above, only as much as they'll clean up in 5 minutes. In Nature carps are grubbing most of the time and eat a little bit often.
Once per day is still ok as you won't have to clean out so often.
In colder weather in a pond in winter goldfish go semi dormant and don't eat at all during the coldest months.
Hammerman, why don't you stick your head in one of your ponds and keep it there until the bubbles stop coming up. You a real nasty little man with the mind of a goldfish.
