Hasn't she just done community service, after being convicted of theft or fraud? Under those circumstances, surely she would not be accepted as a trainee nurse?

BTW, I know it's only make-believe.

The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, which allows people to put minor offences behind them, does not apply to the nursing profession. The Nursing & Midwifery Council carries out a CRB check on all trainee nurses.

However, a criminal conviction does not automatically bar a person from entering the profession as each conviction is considered 'in the light of all relevant circumstances'.

Hey, thanks for your reply, Octopus.

Didn't she swipe several thousand pounds though? Would that be classed as a minor offence, do ya think?
P'raps, with fraud/theft it might be more of a concern if they were going into long term care of the elderly or sick but generally they would be more concerned about violent murderers, sex offenders and drug trafficking.
