Oooh together for me!
together provided that they are both good quality, gristle and stringy fibre together are not a good mixture
Definitely together like parma ham and melon ... heaven, scuse me, started to drool.
woofgang has said everything, that needs to be said!

At a slight tangent - the only time we eat cheese and pineapple together is on cocktail sticks at naff buffets.

Are there any recipes at all that combine cheese and pineapple?

you can get cottage cheese with pinneaple in? its really nice....

I can just about cope with buchanan's parma ham and melon, but if anything derserved to be put asunder it is ham and pineapple.
The Germans have Toast Hawaii, which is a piece of toast, a slice of (usually dodgy) ham, a ring of (invariably tinned) pineapple and a slice of (usually processed) cheese which is then grilled. It has become the epitome of 1950s naffness, often served up as a joke at "retro" parties.
Willowman - have a look at the BBC Food site - you can combine ingredients in the recipe search.

a hotel i used to work at had a dish on the menu that combined a piece if gammon, two slices of pineapple on top, smothered in cheese and whacked under the grill - the chef then garnished the "bumps" with two cherries. Sadly it was called "Gangster's Moll!"
both delicious but should never meet on a pizza
glenis, wash your mouth out!
" thick gammon steak, pineapple slice on top, with mushrooms, grilled tomatoes and a few golden oven chips, Yumsville
Definitely apart.  Still can't work out why people like it on pizza.  Yeuch!
