Has any one ever had trouble having a smeat test?

I had mine yesterday, and after 6--7 attempts, she finally took a swab!!

Has it ever happened to you ?

What do you think went wrong ?

Regarding the difficult smear test. Don't suffer anymore. I had this problem for years and dreaded going for mine. One kindly nurse at my clinic sent me an appointment at the hospital colposcopy unit. I couldn't believe it when Di, one of the nurses said, " All done! " It took her less than 30 seconds and just one attempt!! See you doctor ot nurse and ask to be recommended to your hospital colposcopy. I hope this jelps and reassures you that you needn't suffer anymore. xx

Have never had a problem with smears though had to have a colposcopy which was not so great.

One of the best bits of advice I was given by a nurse was to let your jaw drop as relaxes your body more so it's less uncomfortable and I find that works pretty well.

My mum regularly gets letters from her GP inviting her for a cervical smear....she had a total hysterectomy 35 years ago and has no cervix! lol

It took a long time last time i went for a smear , the nurse said because i am tall my cervex is very high and difficult to reach.

hi anjlegs --- thats unbelievabl isnt it.

Who'd have thought , that because your tall, it effects smear tests. ( i have to laugh at that)

I still cant it believe !!! Shame I've got long legs. x
