Holidaying alone

Does anyone remember me asking about holidaying alone a few weeks ago. I can't remember if I said my name was Jane or just that my sign in name was tomking but I was actually female. Lots of you encouraged me and I would like to tell you that I put my toe in the water last weekend and had one night away on a local coach tour, we went to the Feathers at Ludlow. I would like to tell you that I had the BEST time and i am definitely going to go for a longer break in the summer. Thanks to all those who told me to go ahead - i don;t think I would have been brave enough without your encouragement. Hope someone remembers me so that I can say thank you very much.

Hi there just want to tell you I was in the same position a few years ago and plucked up the courage to go on a river cruise alone. Started as a coach trip to Holland then had a week on a river boat round the Dutch canals and met the most gorgeous man on board. We've been together ever since and are off on a luxury cruise (another of many) on Saturday and enjoy every moment together Hope you have as wonderful a time as I have now

In my younger single days I had the choice of going on holiday alone or staying home. Making the first move was hard but once I started there was no stopping me.

I hope this is the first of many great trips you have!

good on you tomking, now you have taken the first steps and got your confidence back you will have a great time, you may get the odd set back but keep on going and you will make new friends on each trip and also hear about their travel experiences too.

Good on you! One of my friends regularly goes on holiday on her own. She has done luxury holidays, stayed in hostels, has done some teaching in Africa whilst doing a world trip and has recently returned from a holiday to Thailand. She has done all of this on her own and has had a fantastic time, her emails and photos of the highlights of her trips, make the rest of us jealous!. She has kept in touch with some of the people she met on her trips and I believe is meeting up with some of them this year. So I think you will really enjoy your next trip, remember to send me a postcard and bring me back a pressie will you.....!!

I was brouseing through old travel questions tonight and came across your post.
I answered your original posting, and Im so glad to hear you had a good time on the coach tour.
Ive been on another shearing trip since, and there were two people on the coach who were single travellers, that made me think of how you went on with your trip.
Its nice to read follow up and what happened next, especially when its good.
Every trip will be different,, some better that others, but I bet you wil gain confidence with every one.
