2 yrs ago during a short journey I couldn't help noticing that an old Vauxhall Cavalier consisting of two blokes with skin heads had been following me closely for some time.I felt anxious & therefore increased my speed. On my arrival the car had caught up to me, blocked me in and one of them came over shouting ' Police! get out of your car now!'.I could not identify this guy as a police officer as he was wearing no uniform either therefore I refused which angered the officer who showed me a police badge.I then complied. I was assaulted and arrested for speeding & police obstruction. All charges against me were dropped and after I took further action was awarded 4K for wrongfull arrest.I could not prove assault, both officers denyed it took place. It was a frightening experience.Has anyone had any similar experiences with the police ??

Yes, a number of people have.  When cases against the officers are proved, the police take all possible steps to discipline them, and sacking is quite common.

I cannot think of a profession or occupation that does not have bad people in it.  This still a free country and complaints against the police are taken seriously.

What is not noticed is the way that the vast majority of police officers behave, and the way that those who complain loudest will go to the police and trust them when they need to.

The last paragraph was not intended to belittle what happened to you.
