It has been "featured" said the BF. Featured where, he couldn't quite remember - some gastro food writer mentioned it in some gastro review somewhere. T'was good anyways.
If you're ever over in the IoW Silk, I would recommend Salty's in Yarmouth. Brilliant little bistro/wine bar where they literally end up dancing on the tables - staff 'n all. Long tables where everyone mingles, live music, lots of Apple Sourz & shots and good beer. Not too far either to stagger back to the boat - yacht, dinghy, rowing boat, kayak, gin palace - who cares?! Everyone mixes as well as the cocktails. (I got an excellent snog from a 21 year old New Years Eve - bit wet, but passionate).-
Good grub too. I'm sure they'd rustle up a John Dory or a nice bit of Pollock if you asked ;-)

Soft herring roe (milts), lightly fried in lard and served on toast is an easy, healthy and tasty supper.
Jellied eels are expensive and tasty....no further cooking, only season & some like vinegar. Hold by fleshy sides to bite into as there is a central bone. The jelly is good on toast with seasoning.
Oysters......if he can afford to buy them, that would be an aphrodisiac ;)
