I keep on getting stupid emails from "friends" inviting me to join the "Hi5" chat community

Have you read the terms and conditions????

"...hi5 collects personal information when you register, when you use hi5, when you visit hi5 pages or the pages of certain hi5 partners. hi5 may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from business partners or other companies. Once you register with hi5 and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us. hi5 collects information about your transactions with us and with some of our business partners. hi5 automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser. .."

In a nutshell, "SPYWARE!"

While  this type of service pretends to be "free", I can see a lot of areas that are open to potential abuse and avenues that could exploited that would leave you open to spam, a multitude of "targeted" advertisements, and possibly even malware.

I wouldn't join this "service" EVER!

Have you?....................you have? oops! oh dear!

Yup, im with you on that one! Sounds proper nasty. At least they tell you that there gonna collect info unlike some other sites that are out there!

Cheers for the warning.
the reason for the emails are that when someone registers with Hi5 and has an MSN account, somehow it can look at all your MSN contacts and sends them emails inviting them to register. I have heard some very disturbing stories about Hi5 and believe it is frequented by adults masquarading as youngsters. I have warned my children on no account must they register with this site.
