Icing

I want to make a Me to You Tatty Teddy cake; my thoughts were to just bake a round cake for the face & a smaller cake to add the ears. I was thinking a Victoria Sponge? Also, I wanted to ice the cake - but make the icing "fluffy" as in fur? I'm quite good at cooking but I've not baked much - so any hints/tips & advice as to what sort of cake / icing would be best to use, would be most appreciated. I was going to use a touch of black food colouring to get the icing grey - do you agree? Thanks in advance

If I want to make something to look like it has fur on I use coconut. If you put it in a plastic bag with a tiny drop of colouring you can shake it about until its the colour you want. Sprinkle over buttercream icing.
