Keith Moon. Invented 'mooning' (the process of showing one's backside out of a car/coach window). Drove a car into a swimming pool. Once told that half an anmial tranq was a real trip, replied 'I'm Keith Moon, I'll take a whole one thanks'. Then proceeded to collapse half way through a gig. And he was a great drummer!

Surely the true rebel go's against the norm.

The Sex pistols were manafactured the first punk was Iggy Pop - Ozzy just a druggy.

Elvis Presley shook the American establishment to its knees when he appeared on TV at first.

The Stones went against all concept of what "pop" groups should look and sound like.

The Beatles the first mainstream group to use drugs.

Prince refused to comply with his record company.

The Who smashed up instruments and used feedback(?)

NWA openly swore and attacked the (white)estabishment.

Ice T sang about killing Cops.

You can even make a case for the Spice Girls as they were the first overtly aggresive female (Girl Power)band though it may of all just been marketing :-)

If you're calling it Rebel Rebel then i suppose you've got to include David Bowie in there along with Janis Joplin, Marc Bolan, Hank Williams Sr & Johnny Cash to name but a few more...the list could be endless.
