Do you have a drive E mapped by any chance?
If so, change this to another letter and try inserting your USB stick again.
from what you say ... I'd suspect sqb is right ... except same on two computers???

doesn't sound good

be careful ... but if the drive can be detected this will do it
(it won't recover files ... but it will prove the drive)

if it won't there is a good chance your flash sleeps with the fishes ... an ex flash drive - a flashless drive without a spark
a f@cked flash, a driverless drive, rubbish ram (get the idea?)

I don't know any of these ... but worth a look

Yep gotta say it sounds like your stick has given up the ghost!

If it's not being recognised then you've really not got much chance of getting the data from it!
you have already tried this pen drive to connect to the different computers . but there is not results ,
if your pen drive is not recognized by many computers means that there is some problem in the pen drive may be your pen drive damaged.
if it is showing the icon but data is not shown in the pen drive it means that there is no data in the pen drive. may be your pen drive data is lost or removed.
so check the pen drive first , problem should be in the pen drive not the computers.

It seems my pen drive has gone faulty.
Okay now is there any way to get my data back?
short answer is no

longer answer is no way

teccie answer is you might if you open it up and splash a bit of solder round (not a job for the faint hearted ... or short sighted)
no, you can not recover the data from the pen drive.
pen drive cannot be repaired and can never recover the data from the faulty pen drive.

to make safe data for a long time use external hard drives.
