It has troubled me for a while that after a long period away, the 'Ethel' that appears now writes in a different way.

While mulling over this thread

it suddenly came to me.
The original Ethel said recently that she is profoundly deaf!

Hi Ethel I remeber you trying to work out what to do with your kitchen - i guess you made up your mind now!
Yes, Annie, it's coming along nicely. Most of the inconvenient work was done while I was away, so I haven't been without the use of the kitchen for more than a few hours at a time, which is a blessing.

I nearly bought a new washing up bowl to celebrate, in a lovely bright red. I didn't when I saw the price - over 50!

Hi Buenchico- I normally agree with all your great answers ... but I suggest the correct spelling is neither 'imposterer' or 'imposter'- isn't it 'impostor'?
I have checked my copy of Collins English Dictionary and both 'imposter' and 'imposter' are correct.

From Chambers' online:
impostor, imposter Show phonetics
noun [C]
a person who pretends to be someone else in order to deceive others:

I wish I hadn't started this.

Mind you Ethel, all this fuss goes to show how fond of you we all are.

Next time you go on holiday can you log on from 'over there' please. We were all walking round in circles waiting for a post from you.
Awwww, you've made me blush.
