No, but you can highlight. Its the peroxide that is the culprit so anything with peroxide is bad if it touches the skin. So if you highlight your hair or have a professional do it, with a CAP, no foils either...it should be fine.
Blimey I didn`t know that you shouldn`t permanent dye your hair while pregnant!!! I regularly colour my hair and did it thru all my pregnancies! my kids are all relatively normal. I`m glad I didn`t know this while I was pregnant!! just shows you learn something new every day
it actually warns you on the dye box not do use whilst pregnant i asked my hairdresser about this and was told its only because all the extra hormones in your body can alter the colour slightly.
I'm 16 weeks pregnant and have already dyed my hair during my pregnancy. My partner is a hairdresser and he still isn't sure but his work mates assured me that it was fine to colour your hair during pregnancy (although the hormones could potentially alter the colour) but not afterwards when your hair is at it's weakest. I suppose that if you suffer from 'the wilt', where your hair is weak and damaged due to your pregnancy, you should avoid colouring and concentrate on making your hair as healthy as possible. I'm naturally light and have been dying my hair black for about 3 years now and like Mrs Beckham I couldn't walk around with 10 inch roots!
