Sea fishing has bigger fish, the pressure of the line goes on the rod rather than the eyelets of the rod

It depends what type of reel you are using.

The mutliplier reel is designed to be operated above the rod, whereas the fixed spool reel is used under the rod.

Most heavy boat fishng is done with multipliers validating ELVIS68's explanation.
