So, has he left for good or is it - as I suspect - that William Roache has been written out of the show for a while so that he can mourn the unfortunate death of his wife?

He has tinnitus, another hearing disorder, from a mortar bomb explosion when he was doing his National Service. He was commissioned to the Welsh Fusiliers and was a lieutenant.

Not quite so boring, that William Roache.
On a similar vein, heard today from a friend of his that Rod Stewart is playing football at his house next weekend - must be something to do with being old AND rich, cos I am only in my 50's and to knackered for anything most times.
Rod is doing a concert in Tenerife on the 16th May. Can't decide whether to go or not. :)
Hey Postdog, don't feel sorry for that wee dog, Eccles. I bet he's never had so many walks in his entire life, now Ken's fond of strolling along the canal.

Thank you for that Ethel , I shall look at him in a new light from now on.Forgetting of course that his actingskills areabysmal and that he has no personality whatsoever.
Didn't you see him in Behind the Mask, brenda?
I agree with you Brenda!
He does not do it for me acting wise or otherwise!!!
Did they ever find out what William Roche's lovely wife died of? Apparenty she was sitting on the bed chatting to him and just collapsed and could'nt be revived.

Beacham, one of four children, was born in Barnet, North London, England,[1] the daughter of Joan, a homemaker, and a father who was an insurance executive and the managing director of the Grosvenor estate.[2] Shortly after birth, she was diagnosed as being completely deaf in her right ear as her mother had contracted chicken pox during her pregnancy. She has about 75% of normal hearing capacity in her left ear.
trouble with WR is that he went to the Ray Winston school of acting...which means....he cant act
