to ask why I haven't been to see him for 2 years........
Do I say it's because I can't stand pain or it's because the last time I went it cost me 1200.00!!....................

Hi Craft x
If it aint broken..... why fix it?.......especially as your dentist sounds like Roy Rogers.....a right cowboy!!!

We and the little boo boos go every 6 months and luckily, only have a clean at worst, but there are dentists out there who DO look for work to arrange, as to get their money in.

So be careful, crafty, and my advice is to get a 2nd opinion and check up, if you choose to go to your dentist and says you need the earth moved to fix your nashers!!!
Going to the dentist is a necessary evil.......you need them to keep your smile!!

Good Luck and hope you're well x

Hey... that was me at my sympathetic best! ;0)
Hi yogi, haven't seen you in a while, hows things? :-) x
Question Author
thanks yogi......the problem in York is there are few NHS dentists and none that I know of are taking new people on. I even had to ring around the private ones as a lot of them have full lists. The one I go to has a very good reputation for the quality of his work even though he's so expensive.
The best thing is I am petrified of dentists and in my last job I was the company secretary of............a dental laboratory.......
If you have young sprogs you can approach your local Health Authority and demand to be given an NHS Dentist. Much cheaper than private- (395 for a crown).
Only benefit I see of going private is the ability to queue-jump over the NHS ones (but if you've not got an emergency is that really a benefit?)
