A harpsichord is the general term for a family of European keyboard instruments, including the large instrument nowadays called a harpsichord, but also the smaller virginals, the muselar virginals and the spinet.
kempie forgot to include the CLAVICHORD.  Maybe that is what you want
harpsichords (plural) are cembali
gen2 - I didn't forget the clavichord which, like the piano, has strings which are struck by hammers. Harpsichords etc. have strings which are plucked by plectra and as such are a different family of instruments.
